Sitting...ahhh...it really is a nice thing to be able to do, something I haven't been able to do since Sunday. 6 days ago. Why?? I fell down the stairs and bruised my tailbone very badly, so bad that I wasn't able to walk. But, by the grace of God, I am healing and sitting and our newest little addition seems to be unharmed, and finally kicking hard enough for me to feel, regularly. That is a miracle in itself. I haven't felt the baby move until I fell down the stairs, and now I am constantly reminded, by little kicks, that we are a family of 7!!! A family of 7!! Can you believe it, I am just starting to believe it now, and I am getting excited!!
Our Christmas has been somewhat relaxing, and more of a stay at home kind of break, which has been nice, mostly due to the little accident involving a pregnant lady and some stairs. But I will fill you in on what we have done. The week-end before Christams we went to Sarnia for our Sarnia Christmas celebration, it was nice but busy with the now 8 grandchildren on my parents side (4 girls and 4 boys). Then on Christmas Eve we opened gifts with our kids. They were beaming as they opened gifts they really wanted, and it was fun to give them gifts they wanted!! At night we were able to attend our own church's Christmas service which was a very nice thing to do. It was good to see our new friends, and to share in the celebration of Christ's birth. Then on Christmas day we went to Bryan's parents for dinner. It was nice too, but also busy, with 8 grand-sons running around...and 2 grand-daughters...and 2 expectant children on the way. And that ended our visits with family and friends. Since then, we have played games with our own little family, rested and watched some movies, let Brendan and Keegan stay up for thier first time on New Years Eve to midnight (Brendan made it and Keegan almost did, he crashed at 11:20...and they weren't too grumpy the next day). I personnally have really enjoyed being all together for 2 weeks. And am so thankful that Bryan was able to take the time off work. He makes a good Mr. Mom...and he really has a lot of patience dealing with 4 little ones and a pregnant and not always so happy pregnant, sore wife :o) He is the most wondermul guy around!!
Oh, I almost forgot the best part, we now have a bathroom upstairs. Bryan worked very hard and put in the flooring, baseboard and toilet...not we just need the sink and mirror...we had a slight delay, as you already know. But having two bathrooms in a home with 6 1/2 people living in it, it a beautiful thing!!
Well we started school. And we had a very good start, we changed up our routine, became a bit more scheduled and now things seem to be running smoothly. We also started swimming lessons, and the older boys always love swimming lessons. Joshie is old enough too start this year too, the age requirement is 3. He was very unsure, shed a few tears, clung onto me for dear life, but eventually went into the pool, and even had a little fun. Our home school group does swimming lessons on Thursdays at the Wayne Gretzy Center...they have very good teachers and it is fun to do it with other home schoolers.
